Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help the parish priest to distribute the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus at Holy Mass here at the parish. Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are deacons, priests and bishops. This ministry is so "extraordinary" that "delegation" for this ministry comes from the bishop. Extraordinary Ministers receive a certificate from the Worship Office and a blessing in church from the parish priest before beginning their ministry. The delegation from the bishop is for the parish only, not hospitals or nursing homes.
Our parish priest, Father Steve, will also prepare send Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to bring Holy Communion homebound parish members.
The first step to share in this ministry is to speak to Father Steve, then to complete the Safe Environment process. Please see the information under Parish Life.
